Two-off fury as Hitchin lose
Results
November 15: Hitchin Town has two men sent off as they slumped into the bottom four of the BGB Premier Division. Tom Pepper and debutant Mark E'Beyer were both show a red card after both receiving two yellows.
Halesowen, who fielded former Hitchin striker Zema Abbey, clinched victory thanks to an untidy 21st minute goal from Aaron Cornwall. A high ball into the area was fumbled by goalkeeper Mark Bennett and Cornwall managed to push the ball into the net.
Hitchin's new-look side struggled to gel and only a shot by E'Beyer tested Halesowen goalkeeper Nick Bussey.
The game ended with Hitchin fans berating thr referee, who has seemingly missed a series of incidents around the Halesowen penalty area in the closing stages. "We are just not getting the luck," bemoaned manager Darran Hay.

November 15: Arlesey crashed to a 4-0 defeat at struggling Dunstable thanks to a poor defensive display at Creasey Park. In the 35th minute, the home side went ahaead with an Elliott overhead kick. Then almost immediately, Elliott went through the middle before scoring the second goal. Despite a good start to the second period, Dunstable scored again 11 minutes from time, Matyskiewicz walking through the defence to shoot home. The same player scored the fourth after a breakaway that saw just one Arlesey man against four!
.
November 15: Former Hitchin men Brett Donnelly and Luke Gregson scored five of Stotfold’s six goals as the UCL champions struck form against Yaxley at Roker Park. Donnelly scored a first half hat-trick while Gregson netted in the 56th and 65th minutes. Stotfold led 4-0 by half-time.
Mixed fortunes for Biggleswade clubs
November 15: One Biggleswade club made it through to the third round of the FA Vase, but United were beaten by Hitchin’s FA Cup opponents Stanway Rovers. The Essex side benefitted from two penalty kicks, while United were down to 10 men in the latter stages after goalkeeper Adam Lawrence was red-carded. Stanway's goals came from the impressive Sam Newson - who scored the two penalties - and Luke Callender.
Meanwhile, Biggleswade Town were 6-2 extra time winners at Kentish Town with goals from Adam Bensaud, Kevin Cooper, Mark Webster and two by Jack Weeden.
Drury saves Boro
November 15: A second half hoal by Andrew Drury saved Stevenage from defeat against Northwich Victoria at Broadhall Way. Boro had countless chances in the first half, but it was the visitors that went ahead after 28 minutes through former Stevenage striker Darryn Stamp. It was left to Drury, with a superb curling shot in the 63rd minute that eanred a point for Graham Westley’s side. Goalscorer Stamp was later sent off.
Farnborough remain top
November 15: Two second half goals by Michael-Lee Charles gave Farnborough a 2-0 win against Chippenham to retain top spot. But Merthyr Tydfil are the form boys with eight consecutive wins. Their latest, a 3-1 win at Bashley, saw two goals from Gary Hartshorn and one from Craig Steins.
Corby completely outplayed Gloucester and should have won by an even more impressive scoreline. According to our Y&G correspondent, Corby wasted chance after chance in the first half, and it was totally against the run of play when Gloucester went ahead after 53 minutes after Alex Sykes. A minute later, Dean Brennan sent a bullet header into the net to equalise. Ollie Burgess made it 2-1 on 72 minutes and Leon Metham clinched victory 11 minutes from time.
Swindon Supermarine have the best away record in the BGB Premier, their 2-1 win at Oxford City was their sixth in eight unbeaten games on the road.
Tiverton Town are also good away from home and they won again - 1-0 at Hemel. Bobby Hopkinson’s 11th minute goal was enough to win at Vauxhall Road. Hemel, who complained at Tivvy’s rough-house tactics, hit the wood work and had a goal disallowed.
Bedford’s poor run continued at Stourbridge with the Eagles losing 3-1.
